Libra

Sept. 23-Oct. 22

LibraTraits: Diplomatic, gracious, fair-minded, indecisive and passive-aggressive.

As if it isn’t difficult enough for you to make decisions, you’ll have to make a definite choice in spring when the Venus retrograde will bring back old friends and lovers. But Uranus will bring clarity in late summer. You value the enjoyment of fine foods and drinks and were the youngster who picked caviar over chicken fingers. Taste, looks, color and texture are all important to you when you prepare a balanced meal.

Eat this: Don’t apologize for your grown-up tastes, and go for a dry martini, bourbon or foie gras.

Not this: Fast-food options of burger, fries and chicken sandwich.

Pickle-Back Martini

PG tested

This dry martini oozes elegance, charm and good taste just like a Libra, who is looking for grown-up tastes this year and not something for the faint-hearted.

1 teaspoon dry vermouth
4 tablespoons chilled dill pickle juice
A dash of hot sauce
Ice
4 dill pickle spears

Make in 2 batches.

Combine half the gin, dry vermouth, pickle juice and hot sauce in a shaker filled with ice.

Shake for 30 seconds and strain into 2 chilled martini glasses. Garnish with pickle spears.

Repeat for second batch. Serve immediately.
