First Night Pittsburgh starts 2017 off right

Whether the kids played through the day at Children’s Museum on the North Side by having an afternoon “Countdown to Noon New Year’s Eve” or the adults played Downtown, Pittsburghers wrapped up 2016 with a lot of fun.

A drizzle, even with fair temperatures, seemed to keep scores away from the festivities in the city. Nevertheless, those who wrapped up were treated to the traditional fireworks, a favorite year after year. This time the fireworks originated at Liberty Ave. and Stanwix St. off the Penn Avenue Place.

It was the 23rd annual Highmark First Night Pittsburgh, to use the official name. An array of arts were enjoyed along the 14-block Cultural District to bring in the new year 2017.
