Pittsburgh-area students joined more than 3,000 protests nationwide for the National School Walkout, calling for\u00a0stricter gun control laws and to honor the victims of the school shooting in Parkland, Fla., last month. The walkout occurred at 10 a.m. local time, and continued for 17 minutes, one minute for each of the victims killed Feb. 14 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.<\/p>\n
