Twenty years after Three Rivers Stadium was imploded on February 11, 2001, we take a look back at some of the Post-Gazette’s historic photos from that day. Thousands of people gathered at vantage points around the city to watch the storied structure turn to rubble, only 80 feet from the freshly constructed Heinz Field. Though the stadium is gone, the memories from there live on in Pittsburgh’s memory.<\/p>\n
