Last week, I was on assignment as the Penguins were visiting Avalon Elementary School. Iceburgh was lifting kids out of their seats and carrying them to the front of an auditorium for a trivia game. Every person in the school was smiling as a giant stuffed bird plucked children at random and paraded them around. What a Pittsburgh moment, I thought, taking notice of my own ear-to-ear grin. I was happy to be there.
\nOver the past four years, I have had so many of those moments. Small moments that caught me by surprise \u2014 like a little girl sticking her tongue out at me \u2014 and big, overwhelming moments \u2014 like the Pirates 2013 wild-card game against the Reds at PNC Park.
\nAll those moments add up. They equal four of the best years of my life. A week of newspapers couldn\u2019t hold all the photographs, all the moments, that meant something special to me during my time in Pittsburgh. Here are a few that stand out in my memory, as this week marks my last at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
