stop their ritual hedging of the bets that gave Republican Tony Moreno hope he could somehow<\/p>\n

tap into a previously unseen groundswell of \u201cGainey-averse\u201d Democrats to swing the election<\/p>\n

in his direction. There was no anti-Gainey groundswell.<\/p>\n
