Perhaps this photograph is not the best photo of Bobby Kennedy and David Lawrence together. Yet it was an important discovery for us at \u201cThe Digs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bobby Kennedy and David Lawrence had a lot in common. Both were strong leaders, intellectual role models and great men.<\/p>\n

There were moments of tension between the two. In the fall of 1959, Bobby Kennedy\u00a0reprimanded David L. Lawrence in a letter for not endorsing his brother John F. Kennedy in 1956.\u00a0David Lawrence\u2019s role in nomination of John F. Kennedy\u00a0in 1960 was instrumental, partly because of that role Lawrence became known as the \u201cmaker of presidents.\u201d<\/p>\n
