Oct. 14, 1925:<\/strong><\/em> Pittsburgh was \u201ca city resurrected, a city crazy with joy, a baseball city,\u201d declared the Pittsburgh Press on the day of the seventh and final game of the 1925 World Series. Outside Forbes Field\u2019s gates, a crush of Pirates fans gathered hours before the opening pitch. They had seen their team rally from a 3-games-to-1 deficit to even the series against the favored Washington Senators. The fans\u2019 long wait on a cold, rainy day paid off. In one of history\u2019s most exciting World Series finales, the Pirates bested the Senators 9-7.<\/span><\/p>\n

We found this crumbling print in an oversized folder labeled \u201cB\u201d (for baseball). A small segment of the picture was published on page one of the Pittsburgh Press on the day of the final game. \u00a0\u201cImmense throng battles way into Forbes Field,\u201d read the headline.<\/p>\n
