All data is obtained from the Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center (WPRDC), which obtains its data reported by City of Pittsburgh Police. Port Authority, Campus Police, etc. are not recorded.
All data is reported at the block/intersection level, with the exception of sex crimes, which are reported at the police zone level.
Data is updated daily. The most recent 30 days have not yet made their way through the court system. Information is subject to change once it is processed and republished using Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) standards.
Your results come from a combination of 4 different databases. The most recent 30 days are in their own database. Items older than 30 days are removed and placed in the Archive database. Incidents that ended with an arrest or non-traffic citation are in their own respective databases, which include age, sex, and race data.
