“I come here every day,” says Linda Ficorilli, 80, as she chats with Sandy Falcione, who’s worked at Donatelli’s Food Center in Bloomfield for 28 years. “I miss it already.” Donatelli’s opened in 1932, when the neighborhood was filled with recent Italian immigrants. Its future is uncertain. Russell Donatelli is the third generation to operate the market, and there is no fourth generation to continue the tradition.
