Eric Gazdik of New Sewickley harvested this atypical 10-point (six left, four right) in with a compound bow while hunting from a ground blind in Allegheny County on Oct. 20.
“I made a series of soft grunts and light rattling sequences alternating about every five minutes,” he said. “He came down off a hilltop within 20 minutes and I watched him come to within 20 yards over the next 10 minutes.”
The buck has an inside spread of 19 5/8-inches andan unofficial rough green gross score of 144 4/8-inch Pope & Young.

I wanted to pass along a few pictures of the 8-point buck I shot in North Fayette on Oct. 5 at 6:15 p.m. Deer still move when it’s warm outside, especially early in the year. This is my third such buck taken in recent years during the first two weeks of archery in warmer weather periods. Twenty yard shot and ran only 40 yards.
