Brice Rush, a longtime Carmichaels resident, former coal miner and treasurer of the King Coal Association, walks through his museum of coal culture on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, at his home. The museum houses flashlights, hard hats, lanterns, dynamite, and other coal industry artifacts that helped build towns like Carmichaels. Brice and his wife, Linda, descend from a long lineage of coal miners and said it's important to remember and treasure the once-prosperous mining culture. (Jessie Wardarski/Post-Gazette)
