By Dancers from The Steel Dragon School perform the lion dance along Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill to kick-off a two-week long celebration of Chinese New Year. The lion dance mixes martial arts and traditional Chinese dance and encompasses Chinese culture, history and philosophy. The dance is meant to bring good luck and prosperity and chase away bad spirits.
