The Little Sisters of the Poor held a birthday parade to celebrate residents Kay Canyock’s 100th Birthday & Mary Sahayda’s 103rd Birthday.
203 years of life between the two of them!
Little Sisters residents lined up along the front circle waving to the cars with birthday girls Kay and Mary front and center at the main entrance!
Kay Canyock is celebrating her 100th Birthday on June 17th. Kay was born Kay Searle, on June 17, 1920 in Bristol, England. Every afternoon, you can find her having a proper English tea time at the Little Sisters of the Poor, where she has been a resident for seven years.
Mary Sahayda is celebrating her 103rd birthday on June 17th. She was born on June 17, 1917 in Pittsburgh, PA. Mary attended St. George Parish where she was known for famous pierogis!
At age 95, with little eyesight, she helped to make the pierogis by pinching them shut. It has been claimed that she made the best cabbage and cottage cheese pierogis at the parish. Mary also loves to play bingo at the Little Sisters and even has her bingo card memorized! She has been a resident for two years.
