at Woodland Hills Junior/Senior High School senior Ciara Turner, 17, of Turtle Creek smiles as her grandma Joann Dickerson gives her a hug and kiss before leaving with a group of friends for their senior homecoming dance Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, in Chalfant. During the at Woodland Hills Junior/Senior High School pep rally on Friday, Turner was crowned homecoming queen. In the parade that followed on Friday night she honored her twin brother, who was gunned down and killed last year, by riding with a portrait of them together. “He was like, a real like jokester. He was super funny. Even like when we got in trouble or something, my mom would end up laughing too. So it was like, I don’t know, I know he would be like super excited,” Ciara said as she recalled her thoughts after winning the crown. (Jessie Wardarski/Post-Gazette)
