About 50 people gathered along Washington Blvd. near Cochran Road in Mt. Lebanon to support voting rights and urge Senators to pass the voting rights bill known as the “For the People Act” on Friday, July 2, 2021. The rally was organized by Partners for Progress Southwest PA, a South Hills grassroots organization. “Democracy is in peril, and lies are being told about the last election,” said lead organizer Mykie (cq) Reidy of Mt. Lebanon. “The only way to protect the right to vote is for Congress to act. It’s time for the Senate to do its job.”
