Awards of Excellence in The Society for News Design’s 39th design competition

Daniel Marsula, art director, and Steph Chambers, staff photographer, have been recognized with Awards of Excellence in The Society for News Design’s 39th design competition.  The contest was held at the St. Petersburg Coliseum in St. Petersburg, Florida, Feb. 24-26.

The competition includes entries from magazines and general circulation newspapers from around the world. There were nearly 10,000 international submissions for this year’s competition.

The Award of Excellence is granted “for truly excellent work, going beyond mere technical or aesthetic competency.” Dan and Steph’s winning entries will appear in the annual “The Best of News Design,” published later this year.
