Funeral for State Trooper Landon Weaver

The funeral for Pennsylvania State Police trooper Landon Weaver, 23, who was slain while on duty while responding to a domestic complaint Friday night in Huntingdon County in central Pennsylvania, was held at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona, with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Martinsburg. The John K. Bolger Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Trooper Weaver joined the state police a year ago and was assigned to the Huntingdon station in June, the same month he got married. Trump and Chelsea Clinton rally in Pittsburgh

Before a crowd of thousands, Republican front-runner Donald Trump made a campaign promise not often heard in these parts anymore: a pledge to bring back Pittsburgh’s steel industry. “Steel, we’re bringing back,” he told an enthusiastic audience gathered at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center on Wednesday evening (many waiting were turned away by the Secret Service, which cut off the crowd at 4,500). “Coal — clean coal, clean coal.
