Rebecca Droke is a staff photographer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She graduated from Ohio University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication. After graduation, she worked at The Durango Herald in southwest Colo., before joining the Post-Gazette in 2006. Her assignments have taken her across Pennsylvania on the Obama bus in 2008, to the New Jersey shore after Hurricane Sandy and Newtown, Conn., to cover the one year anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings. Trump and Chelsea Clinton rally in Pittsburgh

Before a crowd of thousands, Republican front-runner Donald Trump made a campaign promise not often heard in these parts anymore: a pledge to bring back Pittsburgh’s steel industry. “Steel, we’re bringing back,” he told an enthusiastic audience gathered at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center on Wednesday evening (many waiting were turned away by the Secret Service, which cut off the crowd at 4,500). “Coal — clean coal, clean coal. Advocates for the legalization of medical marijuana gathered in Harrisburg recently as the State House of Representatives considered Senate Bill 3, which would legalize marijuana use for a variety of medical conditions including cancer, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, HIV and AIDS, post-traumatic stress disorder and other conditions.
