Sea turtles finally return to the water
Twenty seven Kemp's Ridley sea turtles were being readied to leave the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium en route to Cape Canaveral, Florida to be returned to the Atlantic Ocean. Sixteen turtles from the New England Aquarium, which were brought to Pittsburgh, and seven from Pittsburgh, were transported by zoo personnel to Florida by the Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team.
