Hot cars packed up

Maybe you already miss the plethora of spicy cars in town for the 34th annual Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix because more than 2,000 packed up and headed home. For some, like the Allegheny Region Chapters of BMW, Porsche or Triumph Clubs of America, the drive home was shorter than for others that poured in for the international car show. Jaguar was the 2016 Marque of the Year. Their slinky lines charm generation after generation. Western Pennsylvania originated Yenko Sportscars had their 50th reunion during their 10 days here. Yenko Chevrolet was a premier source for American muscle cars in the 1960s and 1970s under Don Yenko, son of the dealership’s founder. For a motor-head, it was a must on the annual calendar. Schenley Park provided the cars curvy courses for races and lawns for the International Car Show, blocking out sections for automobiles with heritages from America, Asia, Britain, Europe, Italy, Germany, Japan and so on. Not to be ignored were the presentations from Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW and Porsche with its signature Peru Red 1993 911RS America and 400 other Porsches.
