Bea Mirt of Baldwin Borough thanks volunteers, including schools Superintendent Randy Lutz, after they worked on her lawn and landscaping during the Baldwin-Whitehall School District’s Day of Caring on May 4 in Baldwin. “These are such good people, I’m so thankful there are good people willing to help,” said Ms. Mirt. Mr. Lutz created the program as a way to give back to the community on an in-service day for the school. “Our community is so supportive of us, so we thought about how can we reach out to them,” Mr. Lutz said. “Schools rely on our local funding, and they give without question, so we wanted to give back to them.” (Andrew Rush/Post-Gazette)
