WWII veteran and former POW Rodney Chapman, who turned 99 two weeks after this portrait, poses at his home Oct. 13, 2020, in Freeport. Mr. Chapman served in France in the U.S. Army’s 30th Infantry Division. He spent 7 months and 22 days as POW in a German prison camp. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
