The panels are part of a new microgrid powering facility that uses natural gas and solar energy. Officials say Pittsburgh is the first airport in the world to be completely powered in this way. Mr. Parham, a veteran of the 320th Anti-Aircraft Barrage Balloon Battalion, the only all-Black unit to land on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944, died of bladder cancer. He was 99.
