Crews on Monday evening used a massive crane to hoist the trapped Port Authority bus out of the wreckage from Friday’s Forbes Avenue bridge collapse, capping the daylight hours that saw other vehicles also lifted out of the rubble, Frick Park reopened to the public and a viewing area established for curious onlookers to soak in the destruction.

The second visit to Pittsburgh of Joe Biden’s presidency — this one to tout his administration’s investment into the nation’s crumbling infrastructure — came as the city continues to reel from one of its bridges collapsing Friday morning.

Ten people were injured Friday morning when a bridge that carries Forbes Avenue over Frick Park in Pittsburgh collapsed, officials said, with six vehicles including a Port Authority bus left stranded in the twisted mess of a bridge that had been listed in poor condition for the past decade.
